Hello SVP Community,

As a long-time SVP Partner, I’ve gotten to know many of you over the years. And, like you, I worry about what’s happening in the world and how we can do more together to strengthen communities in the face of injustice.

As a network that started in the United States, and with our largest base in the United States, it is our responsibility to lead by example and to promote justice-based philanthropy. Today, SVP International is recommitting to and accelerating our work to tackle problems at their root, re-imagine systems, find and fund solutions that are regional, national, and global in scale and to trust and fund movement leaders who are closest to the problems and the solutions.

SVP Partners who are also Microsoft Alumni, can have a big impact with their virtual volunteering this year through a new partnership between SVPI and Microsoft Philanthropies.

SVPI’s Board Chair, Sofia Michelakis wears many hats in the SVP Network and in the philanthropic sector. Sofia shared some thoughts on what she’s seeing and what could happen with individual giving in the coming months.

SVP Affiliates across the network are working within their communities to create emergency response funds to support the nonprofit sector in connecting to the available resources. They are working hard to ensure that those who are most vulnerable among us in times of crisis have support structures in place.
