Edward Creasy

After a long career in the City focused on Lloyd’s of London, I stepped down from full time work to combine a life of non-executive directorships with philanthropic work.  I am particularly interested in working with charities to ensure that they can remain sustainable and effective in today’s difficult economic and social environment.

What I particularly like about SVP London is the group’s ability to get close to, develop relationships with and provide focused help for some of the most dynamic charities in London who are determined to concentrate on the real issues we need to address to help those who need support and opportunity. It’s also a deep pleasure to work with interesting people who are intent on a common cause.

I’ve helped lead many charities from the first Red Nose Day to TimeBank to Pilotlight. I’m interested in what makes us start giving, why we might give more and, nowadays, how SVP can help us to give skills and money. I find giving brings me closer to a cause and my understanding of it.

I love SVP because it is both a global and local community of people who learn about giving together. I leave SVPL meetings having learnt more, enjoyed the companionship and feeling inspired all over again by the charities we work with.

Alexandra Lloyd

I spent the first part of my career as a City lawyer, most recently as Counsel at Simpson Thacher.  My practice focused on international private equity real estate and general corporate law.

I now work in the charity sector with a range of social enterprises, including Breast Cancer Now, developing partnerships, strategy, advising on large fundraising events and contributing to front-line volunteering.  As a mother of two, I have a particular passion for collaborating with organisations that focus on the wellbeing of young people and families.

I feel inspired and challenged by the work at SVPL.  I hope to contribute meaningfully to enhance the impact and reach we have as we grow our community.

David Garrett

I have worked in the film industry for my whole career and was the co-founder/ partner and former President of International at Summit Entertainment. During this time, I oversaw the sales and global distribution and acquired many well known titles such as THE TWILIGHT SAGA , AMERICAN PIE, and MR. & MRS. SMITH. In addition, I supervised international and British productions including LOCK, STOCK, AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS and Mike Leigh’s HAPPY-GO-LUCKY. I founded Mister Smith Entertainment in 2012 and during that time have worked in partnership with Steven Spielberg’s Dreamworks Studios along with a host of other filmmakers and producers.

I joined Social Venture Partners out of a desire to learn more about the world of Philanthropy and find ways of connecting with charities in order to give something back to the community in a way that could be most impactful.
