Emily Hargrove is a highly motivated communications, cause marketing and social impact strategist who specializes in creating both partnerships and festivals that work to change systems through dialogue, collaboration, and action. A passionate advocate for mental health and a joyful culture in the workplace, Emily believes in building and nurturing teams that allow individuals to thrive and grow.
With extensive experience in the Dallas non-profit sector, Emily currently works as the Senior Vice President of Collective Impact for Social Venture Partners Dallas as project lead for the launch of a National Center for Arts & Technology in Dallas. Emily is a consulting producer of EarthxFilm, previously was the Executive Director of the Dallas Festival of Ideas and spent six years with the Dallas International Film Festival. Clients, past and present, include EarthX (formerly Earth Day Texas), Ronald McDonald House Dallas, the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture, the Dallas Arboretum, the Dallas Film Society, American Dog Rescue and Foster in Texas.
Prior to moving to Dallas in 2007, Emily worked for five years as Warner Bros’ key contact for actress Emma Watson, being very involved in all aspects of her film production and publicity, and for four years in public relations in London managing the communication strategies for well-known consumer brands for all clients, from FMCG to luxury, beauty and travel.
Emily is a graduate of the Leadership Dallas Class of 2017 and was a class advisor for the Class of 2018. Emily serves on the Board of Directors of the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas and the Dallas VideoFest. In 2016, Emily launched the “Lift Up Lunch” – a lunch series that provides a community of love, humor, and support for those who juggle way too much in life.
Emily is at her happiest when she is with tramping through woods, or on top of a mountain, with her kids, dogs, and her husband Miles who she met on the set of Harry Potter.
