Individuals who feel moved reach decisions much faster than a government, while the people who receive support feel seen and validated. I think that’s a process that is important for individual donors to see themselves be a part of.
Maria Sjödin is the Executive Director of Outright International, which works with partners around the globe to strengthen the capacity of the LGBTIQ human rights movement, document and amplify human rights violations, and advocate for inclusion and equality. Outright holds consultative status at the United Nations and has recently distributed more than $6.5M to LGBTIQ communities through its COVID-19 and Ukraine Emergency Funds.
