SVP Expands to New York City: A Collective Milestone for Our Global Network
We’re thrilled to announce that Social Venture Partners is officially expanding to New York City! This launch marks a significant milestone in our collective journey to reimagine philanthropy as a force for equity, systems change, and community power.
Why New York City, and Why Now
New York is home to more than 33,500 nonprofits, many of which are led by and serve communities that philanthropy has historically overlooked. At a time when community leadership and systems change are more important than ever, SVP NYC will help ensure resources flow to organizations driving transformative impact.
Launching in New York also means bringing new energy and fresh perspectives into our global community. Local leaders and partners are already committed to building the kind of trust-based, collaborative relationships that make SVP unique—relationships that turn generosity into lasting change.
Meet Danette O’Connell, Inaugural CEO of SVP NYC
Many in our network had the chance to meet Danette at this year’s SVP Global Summit in Austin. As founder and executive director of the Nonprofit Collective Foundation, her work has been defined by strengthening nonprofit capacity, fostering collaboration, and advancing innovative solutions to systemic challenges.
Her leadership will position SVP NYC for extraordinary success from day one.
Expanding Our Network and Celebrating Our Community
The launch of SVP New York City is more than the addition of a new affiliate—it’s a testament to our network’s collective power. It reflects our shared belief that philanthropy can and must do more, and it underscores the impact that’s possible when we come together around equity, trust, and community power.
