Alex Buck is an operational leader with experience across a range of industries and contexts including company and product evolutions, growth strategy, talent development, and digital transformations in the legal, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors. Alex is currently president, chief strategy and legal officer for A&R Logistics, the leading supply chain services company for the chemical industry. At A&R, she is responsible for growth strategy, the expansion of the company’s export business to the East Coast, a number of operational functions, including legal, safety, sustainability, and human resources, and works closely with the rest of the executive team on inorganic growth opportunities through acquisitions.
Prior to A&R, she was the head of customer success for Uptake, a predictive analytics SaaS company for large industrial companies. At Uptake, she built the delivery and implementation team from the ground up, spanning a wide range of industries including energy, construction, mining, manufacturing and oil and gas, and she led delivery of all customer engagements.
Previously she was the chief operating officer and special counsel for Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott LLP where she streamlined and strengthened the firm’s operational infrastructure to support and enhance the quality, value and service of all operating functions.
Alex holds a BS in computer science and political science and a juris doctorate from the University of Michigan. She lives on the North Shore with her husband, Jon, and their three children who can all be seen wearing maize and blue throughout the football and basketball seasons.
