Strong Start helps children learn to read. Through an extensive network of partnerships with schools, community centres, educators and volunteers, they strive to create lifelong readers. Their programs involve working with children directly, as well as providing resources for families to support the development of strong literacy skills.
Their programming is centred on three programs that help children from 6 months to 9 years of age acquire essential early literacy skills. Strong Start bases and evolves their programs based on the curriculum expectations and best practice initiatives of the Ontario Ministry of Education and the field of Early Childhood Education.
They strive to help young children reach their potential and strengthen communities.
