SVP Teens invites you, your family members, and your friends to attend their latest virtual fundraiser, the SVP Teens Lockdown Learning Fundraiser!

Join us on October 10 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Each of these workshops is planned and led by a group of SVP Teens or an industry professional outside the organization. The event is split into two sessions, allowing you to choose two workshops during the event.

You may join any two workshops from the six listed below:

  1. Coding: An eye-opening session where attendees new to coding will get to write their first ever computer program using code blocks in Scratch
  2. Coding: An enlightening session where attendees with previous programming experience will learn to code their own game in HTML/JavaScript
  3. Yoga: A calming session of yoga to relax from the stress of work or school
  4. Science: An informative science experiment demonstrating the difference in the density of different types of liquids
  5. Crafts: A hands-on workshop on how to make simple origami (the art of paper folding) figures
  6. Baking: An instructional session on how to make delicious brownies

The workshops will take place on PublicSquare, and a Q&A area is available on the platform if attendees have questions at any point.

Once you sign up, you’ll receive an email with the livestream link closer to the date of the event! You will get to choose which two workshops to participate in on October 10.

Participation is by donation. The minimum recommended donation amount is $5.00, and 100% of the proceeds will be contributed to the 2021 SVP Teens Community Grant.  Curious? Learn about our 2020 grant recipient, Child Witness Centre.

About SVP Teens:

SVP Teens is a program of SVP Waterloo Region with a focus on youth philanthropy and leadership. It brings together some of Waterloo Region’s most passionate youth to identify issues within the community and work towards solving them. Throughout the year, these leaders host multiple fundraisers whose proceeds go toward the SVP Teens Community Grant, which is awarded a local charity chosen by the teens in May of every year.
