Last September, I joined SVP Waterloo Region because I fell in love with the engaged philanthropy model. I have learned so much in 6 short months.
As a new ED, it quickly became clear to me that this partnership is full of passionate and talented individuals who want their non-profit investment to go much farther than just a dollar value. I am honoured to work with such dedicated individuals
It has been a busy start to the year with the annual kick-off of the Investment / Grant Committee where we have 22 partners involved; the largest engagement of partners yet! The Network Growth Committee, as well as the Board, have both agreed that in order to provide adequate support to all current and future investees, there is an urgent need to grow the partnership. As a result, a Membership Campaign was launched in February of this year with Board and Network Growth Committee members taking on the challenge. Their goal is to welcome 12 new partner households to our SVP network. To date, I am very pleased to announce 5 couples (10 new partners) are excited about the work which we do and have joined SVP Waterloo Region.
I would like to welcome Bogdan and Valentina Frusina, Richard and Diana Weinstein, Craig and Colleen Haney, Dave and Brenda Walden and Dan and Isabel Quinn to our partnership. I have had the privilege of meeting and getting to know our new partners and I am excited for the passion and expertise each will bring to SVP. Waterloo Region is truly a community of audacious philanthropists.
Thank you all for your work and dedication. I look forward to an exciting and prosperous 2016.
