Role purpose: The Program and Engagement Coordinator will coordinate and support the development, implementation, and evaluation of SVP stakeholder (Investee and Partner*) programs and facilitate meaningful stakeholder engagement, collaboration, stewardship, and recognition. This work is in support of our dual mission:

  1. to build capacity in local non-profits
  2. to build capacity in local philanthropists

*Investees: non-profit organizations SVP works with. Partners: SVP donors.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate SVP programs – knowledge and social events:

      • Support development, design, and coordination of compelling and relevant:
        • capacity building learning opportunities
        • philanthropic educational programs
        • Partner and Investee social events
      • Coordinate, plan, promote, and execute all logistical details of events (scheduling, vendor coordination, venue, catering, invitations, registration etc.)
      • Maintain high-quality processes and administrative systems to manage and track participation in events, program activities, and participant feedback
      • Capture, synthesize and report on event and program data to determine success, ensure quality and inform future strategy
      • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and communications, in coordination with relevant staff, including event invitations, monthly emails, and social media postings

Provide Capacity Building Administrative Support and support the Early Years Initiative (a special project of SVP):

      • Maintain high-quality processes, communications and administrative systems to manage and track capacity building projects
      • Provide administrative support to the Lead Partner Committee and Early Years Guiding committee, including scheduling, distribution of meeting, collateral and minutes
      • Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and the Director of Community Capacity and Impact to identify and support relationship building with domain experts and potential Investees
      • Build knowledge and identify key capacity building areas/best practices, including areas specific to needs of Early Years organizations

Facilitate stakeholder engagement, stewardship, and collaboration:

    • Support and track SVP Partner/donor stewardship and recognition
    • Support administration of SVP Partner donation renewals
    • Know SVP Partners and manage their interests, skill sets, and goals with SVP
    • Know SVP Investees and manage their needs and timelines
    • Support onboarding of new Partners and Investees
    • Ensure Partner participation in SVP committees and Investee teams
    • Ensure stakeholder needs are being met and measure Partner and Investee
    • satisfaction
    • Develop and maintain high-quality processes and resources for stakeholders
    • Track, analyze, and report engagement data
    • Work with the Communications Manager to support Partner and Investee stewardship communications, such as mailing and coordination of e-newsletters, annual report and capacity reports.
    • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

Education and Experience:

Post-secondary diploma or degree and/or real world experiences in a relevant field (e.g. event planning, program development, donor stewardship)

Need to have:

  • Event planning experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience crafting and designing, and coordinating distribution of stakeholder communication materials
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with:
    • Google Drive
    • Internet and email marketing tools and applications, such as Mailchimp or Campaign Monitor
    • Internal communication tools, such as Slack
    • CRM databases
  • Focus on client service and stewardship
  • Experience working in the nonprofit sector
  • Knowledge of best practices in community engagement and event planning
  • Demonstrated ability to work in team as well as work independently
  • The ability to research, gather, analyze and report on information and data
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, a collaborative working style
  • Able to organize, prioritize, problem-solve and remain flexible within a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Very high attention to detail
  • The ability to handle confidential/sensitive information appropriately

Nice to have:

  • Experience in a donor-facing role and donor engagement/stewardship
  • Knowledge of best practices in program development and nonprofit capacity building
  • Experience with the Early Years (0-6) nonprofit sector
  • Experience with social media platforms
  • Experience with online survey tools, such as Survey Monkey or Google Forms
  • Experience with set up and management of CRM database, such as Salesforce

Accountability: The Program and Engagement Coordinator is accountable to the Director of Community Capacity and Impact and the Executive Director.

Benefits

Salary: Range of $52,000 – $62,000/year + comprehensive benefits, including 4 weeks’ paid vacation and paid leave during our holiday office closure.

Hours of work: This position is a full-time position (40 hours/week). The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with flexibility as needed to serve the needs of our stakeholders. Please note that the Program and Engagement Coordinator will be required to work some evenings.

Accessibility: Please note, SVP’s main office space is located on the fifth level of the building with an elevator for access to the office.

Start date: The expected start date for this position is January 15th, 2022. An earlier start date is welcomed. Interviews will be held as résumés are received.
