In the lead-up to the New Year, SVP Vancouver Investees were hard at work raising funds to support their program delivery and operations in 2021. Despite the pandemic, generosity was high as communities mobilized to support children and youth in need.
Several Investees exceeded their fundraising goals including Learning Disabilities Society, which raised $181,461 to beat their $100K goal; Down Syndrome Resource Foundation, which exceeded their target by 25% to raise $51,000; Kinbrace, which raised an extra $20K to reach $75,000; and Backpack Buddies which surpassed their $200K goal by over $100,000.
Environmental Youth Alliance’s Give Nature Campaign realized an EYA record raising $31,500. Blind Beginnings raised $9,645 and were successful with numerous grant applications. Writers’ Exchange hit their holiday goal of 50 new monthly donors, signing up 54 in total, and ArtStarts raised $4,683 to support their online arts programs for young learners.
Alumni Investees also made some impressive gains. Kidsafe blew away their $100K goal, raising $310,880. Mom2Mom raised $85,000—$50K more than their target—and One To One passed their $60K goal to raise $62,400. Growing Chefs! Turnip the Heat campaign raised an additional $22,807 on the heels of their Farms to Forks Series, and Power to Be’s silent auction generated over $50,000 in donations.
