SVP Failure Chat: Organizational Culture
November 6, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Join us for this panel discussion as we discuss stories about and lessons learned from failure.
In a work setting, culture is the combination of shared values, belief systems, attitudes and assumptions. Research by Deloitte has shown that 94% of executives and 88% of employees believe a distinct corporate culture is important to a business’ success.
Often described as a company’s most precious asset—the “X factor” that sets it apart–culture can just as easily be an organization’s biggest liability. When unattended to it takes on a life of its own until crisis strikes. Not only do unhealthy cultures demoralize employees; they alienate customers, ruin reputation, and destroy value.
In this moderated panel, participants will share a story of professional failure, along with lessons learned. These presentations will be followed by a discussion with attendees.
- Allison Wong – Executive Director, The Asante Centre
- Marnie Goldenberg – Director, Directions Youth Services, Family Services of Greater Vancouver
- Marc Schutzbank – Executive Director, Fresh Roots
Moderated by Holden Bonwit, SVP Partner, startup consultant, and Venture Activator at SFU’s RADIUS.
