Need + Talent + Time – These are critical elements of SVP.

To ensure a strong, healthy Partnership, SVP continually strives to increase the diversity of backgrounds, perspectives, and cultures represented in the organization. In this spirit, SVP invites interested individuals in the greater Tucson area to apply for a two-year fellowship, intended to widen and strengthen the circle of partners involved in SVP.

What is the Helaine Levy Fellowship? The fellowship is named in honor of SVP’s co-founder and longtime advocate, Helaine Levy, and reflects her spirit and ethos. Helaine’s hope is that SVP Fellows may learn to approach things from a different angle and become creative problem-solvers and bring new perspectives to benefit our community.

The fellowships are funded through the generosity of current Partners and community supporters and cover the annual Partner contribution.

Helaine Levy Fellows are seasoned professionals who offer professional expertise to high-priority projects for SVP Investees. Fellows take on roles that deliver significant, sustained impact to nonprofit organizations.

What does it mean to be a Helaine Levy Fellow? SVP strives to attract individuals who will add value to, and find personal reward from, engaging in SVP’s work, bringing perspectives and insights that would otherwise have been lacking, thereby enriching the experience for all Partners. Fellows learn about capacity building, the non-profit landscape, and community initiatives, while building a network of colleagues and friends. Fellows participate in as many SVP activities as they wish, and we estimate the time commitment to be 4 to 8 hours/month, depending on interests. Some of the opportunities include:

– Helping select SVP’s non-profit Partners
– SVP’s Education  and Special Events
– Volunteer Consulting with SVP’s Investees

SVP annually provides over 1,000 hours of volunteer consulting to our Investees in the following areas:

  • Strategy and Planning
  • Management Consulting
  • Human Resources
  • Information Technology
  • Financial Management
  • Legal Counsel
  • Marketing, PR, Communications
  • Leadership Development
  • How to Apply

In 2014, SVP will award two (2) two-year Fellowships. We encourage people of all backgrounds who meet certain criteria to apply. Click for more information!
