This equity chat will feature Peter Hammer live from Detroit. Peter Hammer is the director of the Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights. The Keith Center is dedicated to promoting the educational, economic and political empowerment of under-represented communities in urban areas and to ensuring that the phrase “equal justice under law” applies to all members of society. SVP Tucson is partnering with the Historic Presidio and Arizona Heritage Tours!

Saturday, October 30th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
In Person Only 
SVP Tucson is excited to announce that we have arranged for a private tour at the historic Presidio downtown with Dr. Michael Engs and his troop of historic reenactors. We will learn about real stories from the 1600’s into the twentieth century.

Join us for a socially-distanced and interactive, outdoor program covering the often untaught history of Black people in the southwest with live actors!

This event is organized by SVP Tucson, ticket cost is $30 per person. Registration consists of your RSVP and by clicking HERE to make your ticket gift. Select Social Venture Partners Tucson in the fund and please leave Oct 30 gift in the special purpose section.

Robert and Rhonda Fleming have done it again! This year’s theme is Whiskey – Arizona and the World. Join us to sample an assortment of whiskeys ranging from local to international as you reconnect with Partners for a laid back evening of socializing and catching up.

Fast Pitch Mentors

Through our Fast Pitch Program we provide 2 Mentors to each Nonprofit to help them shape their pitch. Are you interested in working with a nonprofit leader? Mentoring is a great way to make a direct impact in a rising leader’s life as you help usher their way to success at Fast Pitch!

Become an SVP Coach

Our coaching program has taken the SVP network by storm! By coaching the key staff of our Nonprofit Partners, we amplify our collaborative efforts and accelerate their impact in the community. 

If you are interested in learning more and becoming a coach, email John-Peter for more information. This is a great opportunity to connect one-on-one with nonprofit professionals.


Nonprofit Partner Highlights

JobPath is partnering with the Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona’s “Pathways Program”. This program will help single moms secure one year certifications in construction and equipment, CAD (computer-aided design), solar panel installation, sheet metal and iron working and more! This partnership puts single moms on a fast track to career and economic opportunities. To learn about the Pathways Program click HERE.

Interfaith Community Services is providing a free 2-hour workshop to equip volunteers with the skills to provide care while while setting secure, healthy boundaries and preventing volunteer burn out. This training will be offered on October 5th from 9:30-11:30 AM via Zoom, Learn more and register HERE.

Make Way for Books was featured on KGUN9 about their work to alleviate Arizona’s reading crisis in kids. Their in-home programs help parents to create thriving learning environments 24-7 for kids.  Read the article about their impactful work HERE.
