I wanted to update you on how we are moving forward together through these challenging times. It has hit me that while it’s called “Social Distancing,” it’s really a matter of physical distancing. Thankfully, we live in an age of technology that allows us to be social and connect from wherever we are. Here at SVP, we have always been social and we have no plans to change our culture due to being physically apart.
During this time of physically distancing ourselves to keep our community safe, we are diligently continuing our work, examining ways to adapt and deliver additional resources to nonprofits, and strengthening our commitment to staying connected.
Brewing Up Ways to Engage: Coffee & Connect: Feeling disconnected during social distancing? We are here for you! Join us for a cup of coffee and let’s catch up! You bring the coffee and we’ll bring the connection. Every Tuesday at 10:00 we will host a “Coffee and Connect” Zoom Meeting. These will be both social and educational, as we bring in expertise from YOU, our Partners, and guests from the community. Save the date: 3/31 at 10 a.m. More information to come.
Introducing our new Story of Impact series – These stories will provide a deeper look into the vital work that SVP and our Nonprofit Partners are doing locally and across the network. Look for the first one to arrive in your inbox before the end of the month.
Follow us on Facebook– If you do not already follow us on Facebook, now is a perfect time to “like” our page. We will be posting on Facebook to keep you updated on our work, our virtual events, and community updates. We will also be posting some fun content to bring some joy to your social media feeds.
Some updates from the SVP office:
• Last week the SVP team moved to remote working. We have been meeting daily via Zoom so we can stay connected as a team. We are adapting as we go and are moving forward with our work.
• All SVP meetings including committees, A-teams, coach training, Investment and Portfolio Review are moved to remote only. Each committee will receive an email with the Zoom details. If you need assistance setting up a Zoom meeting, please contact Alisa.
• We are offering Zoom tutorials for partners who are new to this platform or those who need extra assistance holding meetings that occur without staff support such as nonprofit coaching and investment due diligence. If you would like to set up a Zoom tutorial, please contact Hattie.
• Our Annual Partner Meeting will be virtual! Stay tuned for how we will adapt this important SVP event to bring it to you in the comfort of your own home. Please hold Friday, April 24th, 2020 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in your calendars until our virtual plans are made.
I am talking with our community’s nonprofit leaders daily. These conversations reaffirm the importance of SVP. Those with the strengthened infrastructure, adaptable leadership, and strong teams are better positioned to navigate this challenging time. Our community needs us – our work continues. Nothing is stopped, just delivered differently. I will continue to keep you updated through this time. If you have questions or want to connect, please reach out.
Your partners in adapting,
Ciara Garcia and the SVP Tucson Team
