Dear SVP Partners,
Using the momentum we built at our February Partner Summit, SVP Tucson has taken the charge from our partners to think even bigger about what our partners and our partnership is capable of. Since that unexpectedly snowy afternoon, partners have come together and moved forward engaging in the work of our strategic shift — challenging ourselves to measure SVP’s success not just through the growth and success of our non-profit investees, but to hold ourselves accountable to community-level impact, realizing meaningful and measurable outcomes in the educational attainment of Tucson’s children.
Since then, we’ve met with dozens of community and educational leaders, including the heads of non profits and school-based programs, major funders, teachers, parents, administrators and policy experts. And just as importantly we’ve been talking together, with dozens of partners being engaged in thoughtful, ambitious conversation about educational attainment and how the partners of SVP Tucson can begin to make and measure meaningful impact in our community.
What is clear from our conversations is that there is a hunger in our community for even more engaged and talented people to be focused on our community’s next generation. Our learning has shown that there is a role for SVP, and every single partner who wants to play a role in this new focus will be critical to us achieving our ambitious goals.
This is a process, and we are so grateful to the partners who have contributed so far; sharing with us your networks, knowledge, ambitions, and questions.
Your partner in impact,
Lead, Community Goal Task Force of the Board of Directors
