Dear SVP Partner,

Exciting things are happening at SVP Tucson, and I want you to be the first to know about them.

SVP International is hosting its 2018 Learning Lab in Tucson October 13-14!

In an effort to move SVP toward greater racial justice in our work, SVP Tucson is hosting a network-wide, deep dive training: “Tucson Learning Lab: Racial Equity and Decolonizing SVP.” If you’re ready to critically examine what SVP does and how we do it, applying a racial equity lens leading to recommendations for change in ourselves, our affiliates, and our SVP model, this Learning Lab is for you. If you would like to join a group of Tucson partners and staff attending this event, please contact me or Patricia Andrade.

Wait… there is more!

As the kick-off to the Learning Lab, we are hosting an extra-special Speaker Series event the evening of Friday, October 12th. Jeannette Mare, Founder and Executive Director of Ben’s Bells, will lead an in-depth discussion on the opportunities and challenges we encounter as we strive to create a kinder self and a stronger relationship to our community. She will share the emerging body of research on the science of kindness, which demonstrates its powerful effects on individual’s long-term health and quality of life. This special evening is an opportunity to meet and mingle with SVP partners and staff from around the world. Whether you attend the Learning Lab, or not, we hope you will join us. Learn more here. – This is one you don’t want to miss!

You can expect another email from me next week with additional information about these events, and look at what’s on the horizon for SVP Tucson. In the meantime, my door, my phone and my inbox are open – feel free to reach out with questions, comments or just to say “hi”.

Your partner in impact,

Ciara Garcia, CEO SVP Tucson
