Carla Moreira Strickland is the Corporate Responsibility Specialist at JPMorgan Chase’s Office of Nonprofit Engagement (ONE),which is dedicated to supporting and engaging nonprofit organizations involved in advocacy, thought leadership and services related to low- to moderate-income communities, communities of color, and people with disabilities.
In her current role, Carla works with a team of community relations managers based around the country on grant and program administration, budget management, communications, and community engagement. She also co-leads the firm’s NextGen business resource group for Western Washington.
Priorto joining JPMorgan Chase, Carla was the Directorof Communications and Development at Catalyst Miami, an anti-poverty nonprofit organization based in Miami, Florida. In that role, Carla managed the organization’s communications, fundraising, and advocacy efforts while supporting severalnonprofit capacity building and movement building initiatives.
Carla was also involved in community organizing efforts in Boston, Massachusetts. She worked on grassroots campaigns focused on immigration, incomeinequality, and workers’ rights.
Carla is part of Leadership Tomorrow Class of 2019. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Community Vision, Inc.
Carla earned her B.A. in International Relations and Sociology from Simmons College. Originally from Massachusetts, she currently resides in Seattle, Washington, with her husband, Steve.
