Northwest SEED, a second-year Environment Investee is looking for a volunteer skilled in website development to work with the organization to migrate an existing website, www.solarizewa.org, to a new website platform. The existing website platform has proven to be inflexible and difficult to manage and the organization is looking to refresh solarizewa.org into a visual and mobile-friendly design.
Northwest SEED partners with communities to run Solarize campaigns, in which communities collectively select a contractor and participate in a joint purchase program to install solar electric systems on their home or businesses. The program uses the power of neighbor-to-neighbor organizing and the compelling cost savings of a group purchase. The Solarize program provides communities with:
- Technical assistance and management of neighborhood group purchase campaigns
- “Solarize U”, a training program to promote replication of the Solarize model
- Resource materials, including our popular Solarize Guidebook
Northwest SEED also offers several levels of support to governments, utilities, and community groups interested in running their own Solarize campaign, from training the trainers to managing the full campaign.
Northwest SEED is currently working to scale the program further to provide a suite of services to partnering organizations in accordance with their needs and budgets. The Solarize website is a key component of the program’s scaling and will ultimately help to guide users through the Solarize process and collect leads flawlessly.
