College Access Now (CAN) is looking for a volunteer to work with the organization’s communications team to develop an overall Communications Strategy for the organization. CAN recently rolled out a new branding and logo and they are looking to leverage their new look into new connections and visibility among peer organizations, funders, and individuals.
The overall goal for the project is for wider awareness of CAN’s brand and an overall increase in the visibility of the organization and its work. Examples of work to be performed include:
- Meetings with CAN’s Executive Director, Director of Development and Communications, Annual Campaign Manager and other CAN staff engaged in brand work
- Review and analysis of CAN’s existing collateral materials, their approach for a social media presence, and CAN’s historic public relations strategies
- Review documents such as CAN’s overall strategic plan, brand guidance, style guide, etc. as well as budgets and personnel time allocated to this business area
- Provide recommendations that can be carried forward into a communications strategic plan that includes details on component parts such as website, social media, brand management, public relations, etc.; and provides rationale, estimated costs, personnel implications, and timeline for implementation of the plan
