Communities in Schools Seattle (CISS) is looking for a skilled volunteer to work one-on-one as a mentor/coach with a CISS staff member who is a newly promoted Program Manager. The step-up to Program Manager comes with new supervisory and management responsibilities, and CISS would love to match the staff member up with a mentor during her first year in this role to ensure she develops into a strong and successful leader for the organization.
The goal of this project is to provide the Program Manager with on-going mentoring for approximately 12 months and help her develop into a strong and successful leader for CISS.
The scope of this role will likely flex through the period of the mentorship, but the current identified areas of coaching and support include:
- Balancing the communication demands of being in a management position
- Transitioning from a role that was more direct-service oriented to a role that will include supervising staff peers
- Developing management and coaching skills
CISS is envisioning a mentor relationship that would allow for at least once-a-month check-ins and conversations with the Program Director for approximately 12 months
