Do you have project management experience and a passion for education? You might consider becoming a Lead Partner! We’re currently looking for expressions of interest to serve as a Lead Partner with our newest multi-year investee, Somali Parent Education Board (SPEB).
Lead Partners are the primary liaisons between SVP and our investees, managing volunteer projects, and advocating on their behalf. They typically spending from 4-10 hours a month working with the Executive Director and other Investee staff. Lead Partners generally have strong project management skills, allowing them to optimize capacity-building relationships between SVP and the nonprofits we support. Check out this Q&A with Rich Gary, a former Lead Partner with Transportation Choices Coalition to get a better sense of the role.
About Somali Parent Education Board:
We believe our children’s success depends upon strong partnerships between parents, schools, and communities.
To that end, we strive to work with Somali parents and students to embrace their dual culture while navigating the education system. We partner with parent leaders to provide workshops and inform parents about education policy changes at the local, state, and federal levels, while also working with schools to develop culturally responsive methods to communicate/include parent voices.
