Mid-Level Manager Mentor, Communities in Schools Seattle

Do you like working in a one-on-one role and in a coaching capacity? Communities in Schools Seattle, an SVP K-12 Education investee, is looking to identify multiple mentors to work with members of their of their management team. This would be a great opportunity to work with a mid-career professional and provide coaching, mentorship and advice around team management and supervision, communications, work planning, managing up to supervisors, and other areas as needed.

At a high level, the goal for the mentorship projects is to help CIS Seattle staff to continue to develop their leadership acumen, gain new management skills, and have in a mentor a partner who they can bounce ideas off of.

The mentorship role will be tailored to the needs of each individual, and there is a good deal of flexibility around the nature and frequency of meetings. Ideally the mentor would be able to see the project through until the end of the 2015-16 school year.

The desired skills for the mentor(s) include:

  • Previous experience in a coaching or mentorship role
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills
  • Experience managing and overseeing staff
