Team Read is seeking a skilled volunteer to work with the organization’s leadership to develop a succession plan for their executive director. The volunteer will work primarily with Team Read’s Director of Organizational Expansion, Judy Margrath, Executive Director, Maureen Massey, and Team Read’s Board Executive Committee.
The overall goal for this project is that the Team Read staff and Board of Directors will have a detailed succession plan that they can use as a “blueprint” to prepare and plan for the organization’s leadership transition when the current Executive Director plans to retire in the fall of 2018.
Examples of work to be performed:
- Research and identify examples of other succession plans
- Work with the staff and board to identify their goals and timeline for the transition
- Assess what organizational structures need to be developed/shored up to ensure a smooth transition
- Identify desired skills, background and knowledge for Team Read’s next Executive Director in light of the needs and culture of the organization.
- Develop a written plan that the Board and staff can adopt with clear goals, timelines and milestones.
