Alumni Engagement Assessment, Techbridge Girls

Techbridge Girls is looking for a skilled volunteer or volunteers to assist them in assessing how they can better engage with the alumni of their STEM education programs. Techbridge has directly served hundreds of young women in King County through their programs, and they have identified improved outreach and engagement with program alumni as an important priority for the organization’s programming in the years ahead. If you are passionate about STEM education focused on young women and would like to support an organization’s programmatic development this could be a great opportunity!

Project Description

Techbridge Girls would like to do a better job at keeping in touch with their alumni, including the young women who participate in their school-based programs, as well as the adult trainers who work with Techbridge. Stronger alumni relationships will help Techbridge to better paint the picture of the impact of their work, as well as potentially engage alumni as volunteers, donors, and conduits to the local technology sector.

The volunteer or volunteers will work with Techbridge staff to gather information that will inform the development of their alumni engagement activities. Volunteers will conduct interviews with young women who have participated in Techbridge programming to gain a sense of how to effectively engage with alumni. Volunteers may also talk with peer organizations to learn what strategies have proven successful for other organizations. Learnings from these interviews will then be compiled into a brief summary of findings and perhaps recommendations to the organization.

Potential Volunteer Skill Sets

  • Strategic communications / Strategic Marketing
  • Knowledge of effective social media strategies
  • Comfort with conducting interviews and synthesizing findings
