College Access Now (CAN) is looking for a skilled volunteer to work closely with the organization’s Executive Director to provide input into a program expansion plan. College Access Now is aiming to broaden the reach of their programming and enter into new partnerships in high need school districts, as well as bring on up to 10 new AmeriCorps volunteer staff members. This project is meant to help position CAN for realizing their planned expansion through stewarding new relationships with school districts, principles and community partners.
The primary component of this project is to contribute to a management/leadership team exercise to identify the different rationales for and structures of partnerships between CAN and various stakeholders and audiences; including regional CBOs, education partners such as schools, colleges and universities, state agencies, corporations and other like-minded organizations. The overall goal for the project is that CAN comes away with shared language and decision rules that can help the organization evaluate the value proposition to CAN of existing and new opportunities to collaborate, coordinate and confer with partner organizations.
Examples of work to be performed include:
- Meet with Executive Director to understand the range of partners and spectrum of intensity in those relationships
- Design the engagement and structure for 2-3 meetings of CAN’s Management Team to undertake the exercise
- Provide a written summary of outcomes of the exercise
