Our Mission: Âdi Collective harnesses the tenacious spirit and creative skills of local refugee women through sewing artisanship that produces high-quality, simple and natural clothing for PNW women.
What inspires you most about the work you do? Our artisans! At Âdi Collective, we have the honor of working with women who have lived through incredibly challenging circumstances and who have, in many ways, been overlooked. Yet they still offer more hospitality and tenacity than ever! Through an Âdi Co dress, we get to introduce our Seattle community to a neighbor they might never interact with, but who shares their community and brings to it an incredible spirit of persistence and gratitude. We know Seattle welcomes refugees…now we have a product that lets us wear our welcome!
What’s next for your organization? Âdi Collective is very new, so we’re excited to really get going! We’re grateful for the chance to let more people in this community know about our work. Our site and production is up and running, so up next: keep providing flexible employment for Afghan women and outfitting Seattle with handmade beauty!
What have you learned from the SVP Fast Pitch process so far? Fast Pitch has been an incredible opportunity for us to pull everything together and introduce others to the exciting work we’re doing. We’ve learned to be effective communicators about our work and passion and have learned that there are so many other great things happening in the Seattle community!
What are you most excited about on October 24th? We’re excited to be introducing an ever wider audience to our artisans, model, and product. The great thing about Âdi Collective is that you don’t need to be a donor to be a part of our work – you can literally help us embody our work through having your own Âdi Co dress! We’re so grateful to be a part of this process and can’t wait to introduce more people to our work!
