The Big Idea
“Our idea is STEMcademy, an organization that teaches kids STEM and helps them to develop a lifelong interest in the subjects so that they can consider STEM as a future career path. Many underserved communities and minorities, and especially girls, don’t feel that they can be accepted into STEM and our mission is to help them get into the field.

My peer Ann Lee and I came up with the idea because we both go to a STEM school and we both started learning computer science in 9th grade. But then we thought wouldn’t it have been really cool if we had learned this when we were younger so that today we would be more able to know these skills. We wanted to share with other students and help them see STEM as a future career option and better prepared for the opportunities offered.”

The Fast Pitch Experience
“I loved the pitch clinics. When I did the pitch, I got this great feedback on how to improve my pitch even further, and that is something other business competitions don’t have. That’s what I love about Fast Pitch.”
