Rob Neu, to quote a colleague, “is an amazingly creative thinker who understands the growing challenges of education.” Neu describes himself as a student-centered decision maker who firmly believes in educating the whole child.
In 2-1/2 years with Federal Way Public Schools, Neu has overseen the implementation of unexpected policies that are making a difference for FWPS students. Among them is the very successful academic acceleration program, which is now generating state, regional and national interest. Currently, the district is implementing a Global Education Initiative under his direction.
Before joining Federal Way Public Schools, Neu was the Superintendent of Waterford School District in his home state of Michigan, where, in 2000, he earned the state’s Coach of the Year Award. Neu serves on numerous civic boards and was recently tapped to be an advisory member to the College Board, the group that provides PSAT and SAT testing.
In Rob’s Words: Why did you decide to serve as a judge for SVP Fast Pitch?
Innovation and entrepreneurship are cornerstones of the U.S. economy and offer some of the best career opportunities for our young people in the coming decades. I’m honored to be a part of an event that supports and promotes these qualities, which are among the newest “core curriculum” of public schools.
