Yvonne (she/her) joined SVP International in November 2017 as a contract employee from SVP Seattle. She officially joined the SVPI team as the Operations & Special Projects Manager in May 2019, focusing on organizational operations, finances, CEO support, and a variety of different projects to improve the operations of SVPI and the SVP Network. As a passionate systems change advocate, Yvonne believes that the communities that are often most overlooked and marginalized has the solutions to the most pressing issues in our society, and with the right resources and organizing, we can create a more inclusive society for all.
Prior to SVP, Yvonne was the Executive Assistant at a small consulting firm in Shanghai that worked on construction projects in various parts of Asia, including Beijing, Nepal, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Singapore. She also interned at the US Environmental Protection Agency Region 10 and worked on various sustainable community projects, including reducing food waste within schools and improving climate resiliency within smaller communities. Her career has focused on creating new systems that allows for those most impacted by injustices and inequities to advance their communities, including resource and power sharing.
Yvonne is Taiwanese-American and was born and raised in Greater Seattle region, on traditional land of the Coast Salish people, including the Duwamish People past and present. Yvonne has a BA in Environmental Studies with a focus on Sustainability from University of Washington, and has graduated from LEAP Impact – a leadership development program for nonprofit staff . Outside of work, Yvonne is a striving BBQ pit-master in training and aquarium hobbyist, and also enjoys baking bread, paddleboarding with her dog Noodle, taking care of her many houseplants, spending time with her nieces and nephews, and learning new things.
