Steve Dennis is founder and president of SageBerry Consulting where he leverages more than 30 years of experience to help retail industry clients accelerate their growth and build a customer-centric culture. Prior to SageBerry, Steve served as senior vice president of strategy and marketing for the Neiman Marcus Group. There, he led the company’s major growth initiatives, multi-channel marketing programs, loyalty strategy and customer insight and analytics agenda. He’s also held leadership positions with Sears and Lands’ End. Steve shares his thought leadership in the press, as a keynote speaker and through his blog “The Art & Science of Customer-Centricity.” He serves on the advisory boards of Invodo, Nectarom, RevTech, Education Opens Doors and serves as a Mentor for the United Way of Dallas’ GroundFloor social enterprise accelerator. Likewise, he is the board chair of SVP Dallas where he has been a partner for six years.

What do you love to do in your free time?
I’m a big foodie and enjoy traveling. I try to go at least one exotic new place each year. This year it’s South Africa.
What is one little known fact about yourself?
My first business partner was marketing guru Seth Godin.
What are the social causes you’re passionate about?
Educational reform, the causes and conditions of poverty, as well as social enterprise more broadly.
Why did you decide to attend this year’s SVP Global Conference?
I always learn a lot and become further energized to carry forth our work. I also enjoy connecting with fellow partners and exchanging ideas.
