Our Childcare Crisis: “No Small Matter” Screening & Panel Discussion
September 16 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
A viewing of the “No Small Matter” documentary and a panel discussion immediately afterward.
Clackamas Workforce Partnership, Child Care Resource & Referral of Clackamas County and Greater Portland Inc invite you to join a virtual community viewing of the “No Small Matter” documentary, which addresses our country’s challenges in providing quality, accessible childcare and its long-term impacts on our economy and society.
These impacts include:
- Forcing women to make job decisions based on child care availability
- An estimated annual loss of $12.7 billion to American companies
The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated these challenges throughout the nation and our region, and we hope this event educates our partners and facilitates a discussion around solutions.
The film is just under 90 minutes long and will be immediately followed by a panel discussion with regional leaders advocating for high-quality and accessible childcare. We encourage you to watch the film in its entirety during our virtual community screening (a secure link to watch the documentary will be sent to registrants the day of the event). You can preview the film via the trailer.
- Bridget Dazey, Clackamas Workforce Partnership (moderator)
- Dr. Benjamin Hoffman, Oregon Health & Science University
- Kali Ladd, KairosPDX
- Nita Shah, Micro Enterprise Services of Oregon
We hope you can join us for this important discussion.
