Jeff Arnesen is Senior Vice President at Marsh where he is responsible for developing and managing private equity group relationships. Previously, Mr. Arnesen was a Senior Vice President in Houlihan Lokey’s Minneapolis office, where he was responsible for new business development and managing client relationships. Mr. Arnesen’s 20 plus year professional career includes diverse experience in acquisitions, divestitures, corporate strategy, operational oversight and restructurings, primarily in the pulp and paper industry. Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Arnesen was president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of M.A. Gedney Company, a Minneapolis-based food products manufacturer and distributor.
Previous to his tenure with the M.A. Gedney Company, Mr. Arnesen was a director and chief financial officer of Plainwell Shasta Holdings, a venture capital-backed public-reporting enterprise. With Plainwell Shasta Holdings Inc., Mr. Arnesen directed the acquisition efforts of several separate specialty paper and private label tissue mills in the United States, culminating in a $425 million sales organization in three years. In addition to overseeing the acquisition process, Mr. Arnesen was responsible for the ultimate divestiture of the company’s assets. Mr. Arnesen also served as president of Michigan Carton Company, a $30 million folding carton company with sales predominately to the food industry, and vice president and corporate controller of Field Container Company prior to joining Plainwell Shasta. At Field Container, Mr. Arnesen was responsible for directing the company’s efforts in mergers and acquisitions, development of four greenfield operations and divestitures in the recycled paperboard, folding carton, printing inks and retail and gift-wrap divisions.
