Did you hear? Not one but two of our investees were selected for this year’s Minnesota Nonprofit Excellence Awards! Congratulations to Joyce Preschool (current investee) and College Possible (graduated investee) for being recognized for the incredible work they do to improve the lives of children and youth in Minnesota and beyond. It should come as no surprise after what both organizations have accomplished. Joyce Preschool has
graduated 100 percent of their preschoolers’ kindergarten ready for three years in a row, while growing their dual immersion program to reach more kids and families in Minneapolis. College Possible has made dreams of college a reality for low-income students since 2008, with 98 percent of their students earning admission and being ten times more likely to earn a degree than low-income students nationally.
More about the award
Each year two nonprofits that “demonstrate effective accountability principals and specific management practices based on the fundamental values of quality, responsibility and accountability; as identified in the Principals and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence,” are selected by the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits and MAP for Nonprofits. Winners receive the distinction of being recognized as a leader among Minnesota’s nonprofits, a video highlighting their achievements, a one-of-a-kind glass award, a feature profile in the Minnesota Council of Nonprofit’s Nonprofit News, and cash awards.
