Congratulations and best wishes to SVP Board member Jamilah Prince Stewart and Kolé Mascoll who were married this summer.

Barry Schwimmer is putting his early morning Peloton training to good use later this month as he participates in the 3-day, 275-mile Northeast AIDS Ride from Boston to NYC. Funds raised go to support AIDS and HIV research, awareness and services.

SVP community partner Building One Community has been selected as a 2019 FCCF Community Impact Award Recipient and will be honored on December 5th at Moffly Media’s Light a Fire Awards.

Congratulations to Larry Bingaman who is this year’s recipient of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce‘s Community Leadership Award, a lifetime achievement award that celebrates the highest standards of commitment to community, family, and career.   Larry is the President & CEO of Regional Water Authority.

In July Peter Denious was named President and CEO of the Connecticut Economic Resource Center (CERC), a nonprofit corporation.  Peter brings global asset management experience to Connecticut economic development efforts and will work collaboratively with leadership across the state, particularly the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), to drive business retention and recruitment.  With the support of the Lamont administration, Peter is leading a bold transformation of the organization into a private, business-driven nonprofit with a revised and expanded mandate.

On a related note, CERC is seeking to hire a VP of Business Development and a VP of Business Engagement The VPBD will be focused on recruiting businesses to CT, while the VPBE will focus on retaining CT businesses by developing and engaging industry clusters.  CERC is also adding to their research team and hiring business associates/analysts.   In all cases, they are seeking entrepreneurial, analytical talent who are team players ready to roll up their sleeves and apply their skills in a fast-paced, highly dynamic work environment.
