In July Peter Denious was named President and CEO of the Connecticut Economic Resource Center (CERC), a nonprofit corporation. Peter brings global asset management experience to Connecticut economic development efforts and will work collaboratively with leadership across the state, particularly the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), to drive business retention and recruitment. With the support of the Lamont administration, Peter is leading a bold transformation of the organization into a private, business-driven nonprofit with a revised and expanded mandate.
On a related note, CERC is seeking to hire a VP of Business Development and a VP of Business Engagement. The VPBD will be focused on recruiting businesses to CT, while the VPBE will focus on retaining CT businesses by developing and engaging industry clusters. CERC is also adding to their research team and hiring business associates/analysts. In all cases, they are seeking entrepreneurial, analytical talent who are team players ready to roll up their sleeves and apply their skills in a fast-paced, highly dynamic work environment.
