What We Do: Social Venture Partners builds powerful relationships among people and organizations that make our world a better place. We cultivate effective philanthropists, fund and strengthen nonprofits, and invest in collaborative solutions to social challenges.

Using innovative business principles and market dynamics to achieve social good and contribute to our local communities, SVP Connecticut seeks to be a catalyst for growth within the nonprofit sector.

Area We Focus On: Closing the Opportunity Gap in Connecticut through the levers of education and workforce development.

Investments: As of September 2019, SVP Connecticut has invested over $1MM and volunteered more than 20,000 hours of skilled strategic support to more than 30 nonprofits in our region.

History:  First convened as an informal group of venture philanthropists in 2012,  In October 2013 Connecticut became the 34th chapter in the SVP global network.  

SVP Network:   The largest network of engaged philanthropists with (as of September 2019)  over 3400 iividual members (we call them Partners) in 44 cities across 9 countries: United States, Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, Korea, Brazil and the United Kingdom.  Together we have worked with more than 900 investees and contributed more than $70 million (USD) and tens of thousands of hours of skilled strategic support.
