Shilpa has 20 years of diverse experiences from the business and nonprofit sector in the United States, India and Romania. She is the program director for Economic Development at the Cleveland Foundation. Before joining the Cleveland Foundation, she was director of business attraction for Team NEO. As research staff for the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, she focused on the use of information and communication technology for rural development, working on projects for clients such as World Bank. Her experience includes four years as a placement consultant with a recruitment firm in Ahmedabad, India. She has authored several published articles and was a member of the Business Attraction, Retention, and Expansion Committee from 2009-2011 and is currently serving on the Strategy Coordination Committee of the Regional Economic Competitiveness Strategy.
A graduate of Delhi University, Shilpa has two master’s degrees – an MBA from Som-Lalit Institute of Management Studies and most recently, a master’s in Management of Nonprofit Organizations from Case Western Reserve University. She resides in Lakewood, Ohio, with her husband Desikan.
