Abby Westbrook joined SVP Cleveland in September 2020 as its executive director. In this role, Abby is charged with leading the organization and its Partnership in its efforts to actively support and engage nonprofits in the Cleveland community.
After graduating from Marquette University with a B.A. in Political Science and Women’s Studies, Abby began her career in San Francisco at the Homeless Advocacy Project, working to secure housing and public benefits for homeless individuals and families. She then moved to New York City to pursue an M.P.A. at New York University. There she spent eight years at the Atlantic Philanthropies, a global grantmaking foundation dedicated to advancing opportunity, equity, and dignity in eight countries throughout the world. Most recently, Abby served as the Chief Strategy Officer for Food Rescue Hero, a nonprofit focused on addressing the disconnect between food waste, hunger, and environmental sustainability.
After over a decade of living and working in NYC, Abby returned to Cleveland in summer of 2019. She is thrilled to be back and raising her two young sons in her hometown.
