Melissa A. Hamilton is an experienced strategy consultant who serves global public and private clients across various industries. Currently, she works as a director of business and Clinical Analytics for AVIA. Previously she consulted in the M&A space and partnered with clients across all phases of the deal lifecycle at Accenture. She is a known thought leader and has developed playbooks on a variety of merger integration topics. Melissa began her consulting career with PricewaterhouseCoopers. She has also worked in operations at Apple, Inc. and in business development at FinTEx Chicago, a startup technology collaborative created to expand Chicago’s role as the center of financial services innovation.
Melissa enjoys bringing strategic thinking to the nonprofit space to help mission-driven organizations solve some of their biggest challenges. As a manager with the Taproot Foundation, a pro bono professional services nonprofit organization, Melissa helped a higher education organization refine its cost of education financial model and also partnered with a social services organization to build a five year growth strategy. Melissa also enjoys nonprofit board service and currently advocates for social entrepreneurs who are making a difference in under-resourced communities in the Chicago area, as a member of the Goodcity Chicago Associates Board.
Melissa is also a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to public service.
Melissa earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s in accounting from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Melissa is a licensed CPA in both Missouri and Illinois. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys all things sports. She loves to blog about sports, attend sporting events, and only recently retired her flag football jersey and cleats.
