Eric Draut

Eric began his career as an audit manager at Coopers & Lybrand (now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers). He spent 20 years with Unitrin (now Kemper Corp.), a financial services holding company, a tenure that included 13 years as executive vice president and CFO. Over that period he also managed a $6 billion investment portfolio and led numerous acquisition, divestiture and financing transactions.

Eric currently serves on the board of directors at Thrivent Financial, where he chairs the audit and finance Committee and Blackrock TCP Capital, where he chairs the audit committee. He previously served on the boards of Intermec and Unitrin.

Eric is currently a board member at Holy Family Ministries where he recently served as volunteer interim chief executive officer. He also served for 11 years on the board of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, where he was named chairman emeritus and previously served as volunteer executive chair leading the organization for several years. Eric previously served on the board of Journeys from PADS to HOPE—a coalition of homeless shelters in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. In recognition of these and other efforts, he was awarded the Call to Service Award by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation.

Eric earned a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and also holds an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a CPA and a National Association of Corporate Directors Fellow. Eric and his wife Jodie reside in Arlington Heights and Chicago. Their daughter Laurie resides in Chicago.
