I grew up in Illinois and came to Colorado to attend the University of Colorado on a Navy ROTC scholarship. After graduation, I served in the US Navy as a shipboard officer and then as a recruiting officer. After the Navy, I earned a Masters of Business Administration degree and a Masters of Taxation degree from the University of Denver. I started my accounting career to Deloitte, Haskins and Sells. After leaving Deloitte, I was the COO/CFO of a venture capital funded tech firm in the 19980s. I then opened my own CPA firm and operated that business in various renditions for about 30 years. I am now a tax partner at ACM, a Denver based 175 person CPA firm with offices in Denver, Boulder, Greeley, and Laramie, WY.
I have been a member of the Boulder Valley Rotary Club for about 30 years and served on their board and was president of the club for one year. I have also served as president and a board member of the Boulder Estate Planning Council. Additionally, I have served as a board member of the Boulder Urban Renewal Authority, the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, the Lyons Fire Protection District, and Frasier Meadows Retirement Community. I joined SVP in November 2016. I also have the privilege to manage a small private foundation that provides about $140,000 of annual funding into non-profit activities in the State of Colorado.
In my spare time I can be found at the bridge table, on my bicycle, hiking the mountains, or traveling the world.
