Dear SVP Community Member,
As I reflect on my first year as CEO of Social Venture Partners International, I feel inspired and grateful for the Affiliates and Partners like you that make up this network and are committed to transforming philanthropy to create the social change we hope to see in the world.
As a quick recap of this last year I wanted to share a few highlights
- 215 Network leaders came together at our Global Summit in Vancouver to build relationships and explore shifting power through equitable and community centered philanthropy
- SVP International teamed up with SVP Los Angeles to host a learning tour — for partners, staff, and community members — in Montgomery, Alabama, home of the National Peace and Justice Memorial and Legacy Museum
- All seven SVPs in India came together with a small but mighty SVP International delegation in March, to learn about and invest in a country-wide, cross-sector Million Jobs Initiative
- Our movement continues to grow — 11 prospective affiliates have contacted us about launching an SVP in their community
I’m proud of the work that we have done this past year, but I’m most excited by what’s to come. Throughout 2020 we will be ground truthing a new theory of change and looking to Affiliates and Partners for help co-creating SVPI’s next phase of impact — one in which we harness the power of our global network to lead in the field of philanthropy toward our full potential to make our communities stronger. Together, we will live into our global vision of being a powerful network of civically engaged and community-oriented philanthropists organized together with other social change leaders and organizations.
If you are as excited as I am for SVP International’s future, I hope that you will consider making an end-of-year gift to help make this vision a reality.
With this community we will catalyze more resources to solve the challenges of our time, demonstrate new models for how philanthropy can be proximate and accountable, and work together to provide communities, especially those who have historically been left behind by economic growth and philanthropic giving, what they need most from us. We will amplify SVP’s impact at the regional, national, and international scale so that together we are a force for creating stronger, more resilient, and just communities.
Donate to SVPI today.
As the hub in a social change ecosystem, we organize our network of practitioners to experiment, learn rapidly, and connect locally-regionally-nationally-globally, because that is how we will solve complex challenges. In 2020, we want to lean even more into this network approach and we will need an enthusiastic team of supporters to ensure we have a connected and growing network.
Of course, I also encourage you to support your local SVP affiliate in your year-end giving.
Thank you — I appreciate your consideration and support, and wish you a joyful transition into the New Year.
