With 7 current affiliates and 2 more on the horizon, a renewed energy and excitement is evident in SVP India Partners, non-profits, staff and board!
The SVP India movement started in 2012, and quickly built such momentum over the last 7 years that they’re now looking at growth across all 7 cities where Partners are engaged: Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad. They’re hoping to add 2 more affiliates in the coming year!
All affiliates of SVP India run with a common agenda of “fulfilling a million dreams and creating a million jobs,” an effort called the Million Jobs Mission (MJM). A critical element of this journey is SVP India’s capacity building work with the non-profit partners and the scale that they have been able to achieve together. The team at the Million Jobs Mission (MJM) is now working towards developing a capability maturity model (CMM) that will help them understand the level at which the non-profits stand and the support they need to move toward their desired state.
Team SVP India has also launched Youth for Philanthropy, an initiative to bring together youth for community development. The model is currently being tested out in Pune as a pilot and, if successful, will be replicated across other India affiliates.
The SVP India board meets every quarter in one of our affiliate cities, and have just recently wrapped up a meeting at one of our newest affiliates – the city of joy – Kolkata!
