Over the last “15 years, women of color have held the same percentage (under 20%) of leadership roles as directors and CEOs in more than 4,000 nonprofit staff members in this country, with few gains in representation.” Many of you may have heard of the recent reports from the Building Movement Project on the state of nonprofit leadership in the USA. Currently, they are working on the Race to Lead survey, to gather perspectives on diversity and leadership within the U.S. social sector.
Mission Capital, our SVP Affiliate in Austin, Texas, led by new CEO Madge Vasquez, is partnering with Building Movement to administer the Race to Lead survey in their community. This survey will gather important insights on the persistent race and gender leadership gap in the social sector. They will share their learning with nonprofit investees, funders, and stakeholders as an effort to change this leadership trajectory across the social sector.
Mission Capital invites the SVP community in the U.S. to share the survey link with your nonprofit colleagues and take the survey yourself to share your input and insights: bit.ly/RacetoLeadSurvey.
