SVP Teens is a leadership and community development program for youth aged 13 – 19 in Waterloo Region.
Through discussions with community leaders, volunteering, fundraising, and grant-making, SVP Teens offers its participants:
- Insight into social issues facing our community
- Leadership and teamwork development
- Diverse volunteer opportunities
- Opportunities to work with other teens who are interested and engaged in our community
The program runs September – June each year, with meetings usually once a month.
Our next meeting is on: October 3, 2018, from 7 pm – 8:30 pm.
There is no application process – just an expectation that participants are thoughtful, hardworking, responsible, open to others’ ideas and confident in their own, and interested in learning more about their community. We ask all participants to sign a commitment form at the beginning of the year, pledging to follow through on the responsibilities that come with participating in SVP Teens.
