Veena Prasad is the founder and Executive Director of Project Feast, a nonprofit social enterprise and winner of the 2013 Fast Pitch Startup Nonprofit and Women’s Foundation awards in 2013. The organization’s mission is to empower refugee and immigrant cooks through pathways to jobs in the food industry and to enrich the greater Seattle community through being a platform for intercultural exchange.
Veena’s professional career has zigzagged through the corporate world at Procter & Gamble and as a solo food entrepreneur before she embarked on her journey with Project Feast. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the UW Foster School of Business. She is an immigrant from Bangalore, India but feels very much at home in Seattle. She is the proud mother of four-year old twins.
