Sarah and Daron joined SVP in 2018 to engage more deeply with the Seattle community and learn more about how to play a more active role in supporting local organizations. Sarah is the VP of Education at Code.org, a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to computer science education for K-12 students, especially women and underrepresented minorities. She manages the Education team, which develops free and open source computer science curriculum, designs professional learning workshops for teachers, and supports a national network of facilitators who lead these workshops.
Building off of her organization’s commitment to equity, Sarah wants to learn more about how to better serve individuals and groups that have been systemically marginalized, and she is looking forward to exploring that work with SVP.
Daron is the Group Engineering Manager for the OneDrive and SharePoint Developer Platform at Microsoft. His team works to make it possible for developers both inside and outside of Microsoft to build software powered by the cloud. Daron is excited about the opportunity to learn about and actively participate in addressing challenging issues in our local community.
Daron and Sarah have been in Seattle for over 10 years and spend most of their free time with their three cats.
