Michael supports communications for SVP Seattle and SVP International as a visual storyteller, bringing image and voice to our broad range of social impact initiatives.
Michael has a long, diverse background in visual arts and other creative practices. After completing his formal training at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago —printmaking, mixed media sculpture and critical writing — he relocated to northern Japan, apprenticed with a local sculptor and taught English.
Before joining the creative team at SVP he developed a successful startup in Boulder, Colorado and, most recently, was the creative director for an NSF-awarded startup working to reduce recidivism through technology, education and in-reach.
Michael moved to Seattle in 2014 to return to hands-on creative practice full-time. He loves the area for its strong support of local arts and culture, amazing food, beautiful landscape and great weather.
When away from work Michael enjoys losing track of time in the studio, film, running, Japanese home cooking and learning to make a better cup of coffee.
