Marcus is a proud Southeast Seattle native, proud alumni of the one and only Rainier Beach International Baccalaureate High School and the University of Washington. Marcus is a proud servant leader, proud adoptive uncle of six, son of Brenda and Charles and friend to whoever is friendly. He has a deep passion for youth, community service, and social advocacy.
As an emcee, he has been honored to host and or keynote events ranging from the Paramount Theatre, Columbia University, the University of Washington and most recently as a presenter at TedX Seattle, U. Marcus has served in school-based and social services for 15 years, formerly as Executive Director of (ACAP) The Accounting Career Awareness Program; Race to the Top Grant Program Manager for Rainier Beach High school; Director of Community Engagement for the Washington State Charter School Association, and currently serves as Principal/Lead Learner of the Academy for Creating Excellence an aspiring educational model that focuses on cultivating the innate excellence inside of African American males.
Marcus has a Masters of Arts in Education and Program Manager Certification from the University of Washington.
