Founded in 1962 by five Bellevue-area mothers of children with disabilities, Kindering Center is the only early intervention center serving urban East King County. It is the largest intervention center in Washington State, one of the three largest centers in the nation, and notably the most comprehensive.
They are committed to providing superior, individualized, family-centered services for children who are disabled, medically fragile, or vulnerable because of abuse or neglect. They help children develop their maximum potential, engender hope, and promote community understanding.
Kindering is serving more children than ever before, and demand for their services is growing. Over the last five years, enrollment in their early intervention program has more than doubled.
